Mustard seed futures add more losses on subdued spot cues

NEW DELHI, July 25: Falling for the second straight session, mustard seed prices fell by Rs 28 to Rs 4,185 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators offloaded holdings in line with a weak trend at the physical market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed to be delivered in September fell by Rs 28, or 0.66 per cent, to Rs 4,185 per quintal with an open interest of 41,680 lots.
In line with the general trend, mustard seed delivery for August was trading lower by Rs 24, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 4,142 per quintal with an open interest of 1,14,020 lots.
Marketmen said cutting down of bets by participants, hurt by thin demand from oil mills against soaring stocks in the spot markets kept mustard seed futures prices in the negative terrain. (PTI)
