RAJOURI, Dec 16: Dr Mustafa Kamaal, additional general secretary National Conference and some other senior leaders of the party addressed an election rally at Thanamandi today.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mustafa claimed that the National Conference was going to form the next Government under Omar Abdullah on its own. He alleged that the forces inimical to communal harmony patronized by PM Modi himself were threat to J&K Constitution of socialism, secularism and democracy. “The unity in diversity in our federal setup which is the true strength of our country, is also under grave threat from the BJP,” he alleged and added that the Muslims of J&K were rightly worried as their hegemony in the only Muslim majority State of  the country was  being targeted along with Article 370.
Later, addressing another public meeting at Dongi Brahmna, Dr Kamaal lamented the lack of sincerity of New Delhi in resolving differences with Pakistan over the Kashmir tangle which is costing the State dearly with adverse impact on development and progress. He also asked Central Government to prove its allegation of misusing Central funds or apologize.  It was not J&K Government which is looting the resources but  NHPC of GoI which is pocketing a profit of Rs 5000 crores annually from the power projects in J&K. “NHPC  is illegally doing it even after recovering the construction cost cum profit several times over,” he alleged.
He also reiterated National Conference commitment to restoration of Article 370 in its original form as enunciated in the Greater Autonomy Resolution, repealing of AFSPA and political settlement of Kashmir imbroglio with Pakistan.
The NC leader was accompanied by Mirza Abdul Rashid, Rattan Lal Gupta, Mohd Farooq Mughal, Farooq Aalam, Shafayat Khan, Prof (Retd) Mohd Bashir Magray, Bashir Manhas, Haji Ayub, Talib Hussian and others.
