Srinagar, Jan 3: The Muslim neighbourhood in North Kashmir’s Baramulla area helped to perform the last rites of young Kashmiri Pandit today.
As soon as the news of the death of 28-year-old Lokesh Bhat locally known as Raju from the area spread, members of the Muslim community came together to help in performing his last rites. Lokesh had received serious injuries in a car accident six months back.
Many people including the members of Pandit Community visited the home of the deceased to express condolences with the deceased family. “He was everyone’s favorite. I have raised him with my own hands. We have lost a good human being. We are with our neighbors in this time of grief. The whole area is deeply shocked,” Khaliq Mahmood, a neighbor said. He added that they would also like to thank the local administration and the police for helping them in performing the last rites.
Meanwhile, District administration and police officials also joined hands with the locals to help them perform the last rites.
The family members of the deseased Pandit youth, thanked the Muslims neighbors for helping perform last rites.
