SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government booked Muslim League (ML) chairman Mushtaq-ul-Islam under Public Safety Act (PSA) for his anti-national activities and has shifted him to Jammu.
Official sources said that Mushtaq was arrested from his Batmaloo residence recently for his ‘anti-national’ activities. However, he was booked under PSA by District Magistrate (DM), Srinagar on Friday and shifted to Kotbalwal jail, Jammu.
Mushtaq was first arrested on October 12, 1983 when he damaged pitch during India and West Indies one-day international cricket match at S K cricket stadium here, since then, he was imprisoned several times under PSA and other acts. (agencies)
