The project of ‘Musical Fountain with Light and Sound Show’ at Bagh-e-Bahu , like many a project in Jammu has met the fate of plunging into uncertainty as several deadlines fixed by the Government have been missed. Where is the hitch , in fact, is beyond comprehension except that the same approach and the mindset of dilly-dallying and non- seriousness of the concerned authorities being at work .
Not that the project in question and developments thereof were not discussed in numerous official meetings , not that the project site was not visited by many senior bureaucrats , not that even Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor not having paid visit to the sitesignifying due importance accorded to the project but ground reality still shows inordinate delay. Slated to be completed in all respects by March 2020 and to ensure that timeline was not missed, all concerned departments were directed and expected to work in tandem, still the works are incomplete. Agreed, the unexpected challenge of COVID-19 pandemic which struck last year past March ,topsyturvy all projections and achieving different targets but the timeline of March 2020 denoted that it should have been by then nearly completed and a few months more would have been enough to have it in full operation. Since it is related to encouraging tourism and visiting by number of interested local people, the remaining work on it may be completed soon which the UT Administration must ensure.
