JAMMU, Feb 11: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production presented musical concert on “Nari Shakti” in its 98th Friday Series at Rehearsal Hall, Durga Bhawan, Janipur, here today.
The musical concert was based on this year’s theme ‘Equity, Diversity and Inclusion: Water Unites Us’. The Program was inaugurated by chief guest VK Magotra, former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity, GoI in presence of guest of honours including Dr Tara Singh Charak, Dr Anju Dogra, and JK Raina.
The programme commenced with songs of “Sun Sun Sahalei Meri Sun”, “Aapu Padna Duen Padana Har Manu Gi Thoeh Thakana”, “Ladli Beti Hai Hamari Ladli Beti”, and skit was also staged by the renowned artists of BLSKS, while the concert was assisted by MC Kotwal, general secretary of the Sansthan. The musical concert was written, produced and directed by Dr ML Dogra.
The chief guest VK Magotra lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes in colourful and effective manner and said 11th February to recognize the role of women and girls in science, not only as beneficiaries but also as agents of change.
Earlier, in the welcome speech, Dr Dogra highlighted the event and said that women have played an important role in every walk of life. However, efforts have been made globally in the past few decades to increase the participation of women and girls in science.
Dr Anju Dogra also highlighted the importance of the day. The artists who performed in the concert were Rajni Gupta, Sanjeev Sodhi, Richu Balvinder, Sudesh Manhas, Ankush Kumar and Sunil Pandita.
