REASI, Feb 4: Municipal Committee, Reasi employees today went on indefinite strike demanding action against hawkers/ rehariwallas who allegedly beat up one of the MC employees yesterday during an anti-encroachment drive at Reasi Bus Stand.
All the employees of Municipal Committee Reasi assembled at MC Reasi complex and raised slogans in support of their demand. Later, they held protest march, passing through main bazaar and themn sat on dharna outside Tehsil office complex Reasi.
The protesting employees were demanding action against the guilty persons. The protest was also joined by some Councillors and president Municipal Committee Reasi Shashi Puri. He said that strict action should be taken against culprits and no one should be allowed to take law into their hands.
Later, the employees lifted their dharna but struck work. They said strike would be continued till action is taken against culprits.
