Mumbaikar held with 27 kg charas

JAMMU, Oct 5: Narwal police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a Mumbaikar along with 27 kilograms of charas.
As per police spokesperson, based on reliable information, a team from Narwal police post laid a naka and signaled a Qualis car bearing registration number MH04BH-2115 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police recovered 27 kilograms charas from the vehicle and arrested the accused driver.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Sajad of Mumbai. He had collected the consignment from Jammu and was on way to Mumbai, but police nabbed him.
A case under FIR Number 203/16 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Bahu Fort and further investigation is going on to ascertain the source and destination of this consignment.
