MUM asks Govt to take appropriate measures to arrest undercurrent in Jammu, Ladakh

JAMMU, May 29: Manav Uthaan Mission (MUM) today warned that there is a strong undercurrent in Jammu region and if appropriate measures were not taken by both Central and State Governments to do justice with the region it can take a huge turn around.
Talking to reporters here today president MUM Kailash Pati Sharma said if sentiments of the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions are not taken care of by the Union as well as State Government there can be any time huge defiance in the Jammu and Ladakh regions.
Sharma said there is turmoil in only one part of the State i.e   Kashmir and the two regions Jammu and Ladakh can’t suffer on account of that. He said the MUM representatives who held a meeting with youth of Jammu including National Secular Front (NSF) leaders prescribed some suggestions for the long term solution of these issues.
He, while appreciating efforts of present Union Government on demonetization, GDP growth measures, Swash Bharat, good face of India in international arena and market, share market upbeat etc however showed concern over deterioration of health services, lack of medicines for poor, electricity shortage in the State of J&K, problems of farmers who are not given remunerative prices for their produce, growing unemployment, failure of Government to boost and promote industry, increasing corruption and lack of action against the corrupt officials and officers etc.

He said to improve the system in the State Government must immediately demolish the Medicine Board and release medicines to the rural hospitals, make provision for keeping one ambulance for population sizing  from 5000 to 10,000, open test labs in every  primary and basic health centre etc.
He said if UP can provide 18 to 24 hour power supply by getting more electricity why not J&K and demanded formulation of policy for electricity to all.
He wanted to know that how many youth were given jobs by present Government during last two years and also urged the Government to declare its employment policy and making of industry viable in the State.
He also demanded immediate relief to small farmers by way waiving off their loans, fixing of prices for paddy, wheat, apple, walnuts, create walnut corridor in Jammu, publishing corruption cases and visible action against the corrupt. Besides, he stressed on launching an awareness campaign against corruption. He also demanded probe into solar deployment in Ladakh and MNREGA money used in rural areas, besides naming of KAS as Jammu Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS),  giving separate statehood to Jammu and having only one capital for the State at Centrally located place to save the huge amount spent on darbar move.
He also warned NC and PDP leaders to refrain from making anti-national slogans as this has generated a lot of resentment among nationalist people.
