MULBPA holds meet, projects demands

JAMMU, Mar 30: A meeting of the Municipal and Urban Local Bodies Pensioners Association (MULBPA) Jammu Province under the chairmanship of its President BS Jamwal Advocate.
While addressing the gathering, the pensioners criticised the UT administration for not increasing a minor amount of Rs 700 per month as medical allowance despite many repeated requests.
“The Government is disbursing Rs 300 per month as medical allowance since more than two decades, which is not sufficient to meet the highly priced medicines cost for ailing pensioners”, they said, adding that Central Government and other UTs pensioners are getting Rs 1000 per month, but the J&K UT pensioners have been ignored from such genuine right.
They also demanded release of the DA/DR instalment due from January 2022 and 18 months pending DA/DR due from January 2020 to ending June 2021.
The pensioners also demanded appointment of their educated youth in the Urban Development Department.
The concerned authorities should consider the demand sympathetically.
Among others present were KG Khajuria, BD Verma, JL Sharma, Attar Singh, SK Sharma, Tarsem Lal, RK Gupta, Harcharan Singh, etc.
