The Mughal road is emerging as a viable alternative to the National Highway. The road will not reduce burden on the Highway but will prove a boon to the people of Rajouri and Poonch districts. Even while the road has not been completed, people of the region use it for last some years. Besides, the road could lure tourists to the unexplored tourists spots. There are numerous tourists all along the road. The only thing that is required at present is to create adequate infrastructure to meet the needs of tourists and passengers. There is also need to open security check posts to ensure safety of people visiting through this road. One more important aspect is to have modern medical centres at important places which would cater to the needs of road accident victims.
However, it should be ensured that this road does not prove disastrous for fragile ecology of the region. The concerned departments should be involved in protecting wildlife and biodiversity of this beautiful region.
