KISHTWAR, Mar 9: The resident of Mughal Maidan today blocked the vehicular movement regarding their issues.
Amid slogans, large number of people assembled at Mughal Maidaan and blocked the vehicular movement.
While speaking, Puran Chand, President, Dehati Labour Union said that they are protesting against the autocracies of the Government. “Ninety per cent of people residing in this Tehsil falls under Below Poverty Line, but CAPD Department had listed their names in the APL list, due to which the people are facing to get the ration”, he added.
Chand further stated that since the MGNREGA had been implemented in this area, no material cost and skill labour has been paid to the common public or MGNREGA card holders and all the material cost including transportation charges has been paid from the pocket of the MGNREGA card holder. He requested that the payments should be paid directly into the accounts of job card holders and role of middle men should be stopped.
He added that all IWMP plans are prepared in a closed room and the general public is unaware about the scheme. Mostly in all the panchayats of this block, Chairman and other members of the committee are agents and workers of particular party and the work is allotted to the, keeping aside all guidelines and prescribed norms of the scheme, he stated.
Later, all the issues raised by the protestors were presented to Government through SDM Chatroo and Tehsildar Mughalmaidan.
