Mufti’s decisions don’t even last for 12 hours, Omar on Vaishno Devi chopper tax row

SRINAGAR: Taking a jibe at Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed over his alliance partner BJP challenging the State Government’s decision to impose tax on Vaishno Devi helicopter rides, National Conference working president Omar Abdullah today said ”his decisions don’t even last for 12 hours.”
Expressing his views over the tax row, Mr Abdullah, tweeted, Yup, Mufti Syeed is certainly the boss. His decisions don’t even last 12 hours!!!! Will only apply to Vaishno Devi & Amarnath yatris because there are no other commercial operations in the State.
However, rejecting allegations that Mr Sayeed is being arm-twisted into reversing his decision, national spokesperson for the BJP Sambit Patra posted on Twitter, spoke of the Mandate of “Valley” & “Jammu” region ..which surely has religious connotations..This coming together is Historic.
Upping the ante on the coalition partners, PDP and BJP, Mr Abdullah said, So BJP represents no one except Hindus & PDP represents only Muslims. Glad we got that cleared up.        Huh! I thought it was an alliance of two political parties not two religions, he added.
The PDP-led J&K Government, in which BJP is an alliance partner, announced that 12.5 per cent tax would be imposed on sale of tickets for commercial helicopter services in the state.        However, the BJP stepped in to have the tax imposed on helicopter rides to Vaishno Devi shrine withdrawn, soon after the Congress called it Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s version of the Jizya tax.
