Mufti to chair all DDB meetings, nominates chairmen

Nominating chairmen of District Development Boards (DDBs) in all the 20 district except Leh and Kargil where Hill Development Councils exists, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said he will chair all such board meetings.
An official spokesman said here this afternoon that for approval of district annual plans and their implementation in right earnest for economic development and welfare of the State, Mr Sayeed nominated heads of DDBs of 20 districts except Leh and Kargil where Hill Development Councils exist.
These include Chief Minister, as chairman for Srinagar DDB, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh as Chairman of Jammu and Samba DDBs, Minister for Finance, Dr Haseeb A Drabu as Chairman of Budgam DDB, Minister for Revenue Javaid Mustafa Mir as Chairman of Kulgam DDB, Minister for RDD and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq Khan as Chairman of Anantnag DDB, Minister for Horticulture, Haj and Aquaf, Abdul Rehman Veeri as Chairman of Pulwama DDB, Minister for Transport, Abdul Gani Kohli as Chairman of Shopian DDB, Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sukhnandan Kumar as Chairman of Baramulla DDB, Minister for Youth Services and Sports and IT, Imran Raza Ansari as Chairman of Bandipora DDB, Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs, Zulfkar Choudhary as Chairman of Kupwara DDB, Minister for Agriculture as Chairman of Ganderbal DDB, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Lal Singh as Chairman of Udhampur DDB, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga as Chairman of Kathua DDB and Minister for Animal Husbandry and ST, Sajad Gani Lone as Chairman of Doda DDB.
Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar would be the Chairman of Rajouri DDB followed by Minister for Social Welfare, Forest, Ecology and Environment, Bali Bhagat as Chairman of Kishtwar DDB, Minister for R&B, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari as Chairman of Poonch DDB, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari as Chairman of Ramban DDB and Minister for Cooperatives, Chering Dorjay as Chairman of Reasi DDB. Exhibiting his keen interest in the balanced development of all regions and areas of the State, the Chief Minister has decided to chair the Board meetings of all 20 districts himself. (AGENCIES)
