JAMMU, Apr 21: Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of former Minister and senior NC leader, Abdul Gani Shah (Veeri), who passed away today.
Paying rich tributes to the deceased leader, Mufti Sayeed said he was always connected at the grassroots level and worked tirelessly for up-liftment of downtrodden and weaker sections of the society.
Expressing solidarity with MLC, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri, who is the son of the deceased leader, the Chief Minister conveyed sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
The Council of Ministers has also condoled the demise of veteran politician.

In Veeri’s demise National Conference has lost a towering ideologue and leader who has mentored and guided numerous current party leaders and functionaries. The fact that he was elected four times as a legislator is a testament to his popularity, social and public service and leadership,” they said.
