Sir,
This has reference to the news item ‘Jammu Heritage Society resents delay on Mubarak Mandi Project’ DE Nov 21.
The delay in completing work on Mubarak Mandi Project is indeed a matter of concern and should be taken note of by the concerned authorities. One wonders why the project is being delayed when sufficient funds are lying with the Archaeological Society of India (ASI) responsible for its construction.
Usually, work gets delayed on account of insufficient funds or legal wrangles. But such a thing does not exist here. This project is associated with the sentiments of Jammuites, and there should be no excuse to play with the sentiments of people.
The executing authority should complete the work in a time bound manner, or it would result in cost escalation, for which more funds will have to be allotted. The project will then get stuck again in bureaucratic hassles and other problems.
Therefore, it is requested to the ASI authorities to expedite execution process so that the project is completed in a short time.
Yours etc…
