MPEJ demands regional councils in J&K

JAMMU, May 21: Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice (MPEJ) has demanded that three regional councils-one each for Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh division should be formed in J&K within the purview of Indian Constitution.
In a handout Ram Singh Chauhan and Kuldeep Kumar Rao of MPEJ claimed that this will be the only broadly acceptable solution for lasting peace and communal harmony in the State.
However, MPEJ flayed NC and PDP leaders and called them as ‘killers of Panchayati Raj Act 1989, Article 370, Article 35-A, Accountability Commission etc’.
MPEJ leaders also alleged that NC during its rule pushed delimitation of constituencies beyond 2031 and denied voting rights to lakhs of refugees of 1947, 1961 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars.
MPEJ also took a dig at the BJP for remaining mum to the utterances of Mehbooba Mufti when she had said wrong about National Flag.
Congress was also flayed by MPEJ for forgetting the recommendations of Working Groups and Interlocutors.
