REASI, Nov 23: Member Parliament Shamsher Singh Manhas today visited village Kanthan which is being developed under centrally sponsored scheme Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY).
The MP was accompanied by ADDC Ramesh Chander, engineers of line departments and other district officers.
The Member Parliament while speaking on occasion asked the people to extend full cooperation and support in developing the village as the model village with all the facilities. He said several welfare schemes have been launched by the Central Government to upgrade the basic infrastructure in the rural areas.
The MP exhorted upon the officers of different departments to ensure effective implementation of the scheme, adding that the Centre Government has been providing liberal funding to ensure fast-track development of the State and all stakeholders should work in tandem to achieve optimal results on ground.
The officers were instructed to create basic facilities in the village Kanthan after proper planning and coordination and also keeping in view the concept of area specific development. He said this would also increase the tourism importance of the area.
