JAMMU, Aug 30: Member Parliament from Jammu-Poonch, Madan Lal Sharma met the Union Minister of State for CAPD, K B Thomas in Delhi and apprised him of the problems being faced by FCI workers and labourers of the State.
During the meeting with the Minister, the MP demanded that labour rate for loading, un- loading be enhanced. The delegation led by Mr Sharma also demanded that location for new FCI godowns/ structures are not in the interest of the FCI. The material should be sent by trains and unloading should take place at Railway station. He also pointed out that there were 12 depots of FCI in J&K and none of them was regularized. Moreover, there was shortage of about 1500 labourers. He demanded regularization of labourers and direct payment system.
