MoU signed between IIM Jammu & ICSI

JAMMU, Aug 13: IIM Jammu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) for maximum value creation in corporate governance.
The MoU was signed in the presence of CS Ashish Garg, President, ICSI; CS Nagendra Rao, Vice President, ICSI; Prof B S Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu; Rajeev Bhadauria, Co-founder, My Transform; Dr Jabir Ali, Professor, IIM Jammu; Dr Muqbil Burhan, Chairperson, Executive Education, IIM Jammu; CA Rajat Jain, Financial Officer and Chief Accountants Officer, IIM Jammu and CS Suresh Pandey, Chairperson, NIRC of ICSI.
Prof B S Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, stressed upon the importance of the MoU between IIM Jammu and ICSI. He expressed confidence that the undertaking would help in fostering the relationship between the two partner Institutes and promoting Executive Education programs as well.
CS Ashish Garg, President, ICSI, said that the motto of ICSI is to develop professionals and that of IIM Jammu is to develop global leaders. “Together, the efforts of both these entities will ensure the maximum value creation in corporate governance. We are a team now. By team I mean Together We Achieve More”, he said while referring to the MoU.
CS Nagendra D Rao, vice president, ICSIS, outlined the intrinsic qualities of leaders taking reference from Shreemad Bhagwat Geeta on Tranquillity, restraint, austerity, purity, patience, integrity, knowledge, wisdom, and belief in a hereafter. He also promised that ICSI will felicitate the toppers at IIMJ and will provide scholarships for pursuing higher education.
Subsequently, Prof Jabir Ali addressed the viewers and emphasized that this collaboration will open doors to new opportunities. He said that when two organizations collaborate, they bring their infrastructure and knowledge together. He also mentioned that this MoU will help in leveraging the professionalism that both organizations have and will also help to get a good connect with the industry which will eventually help a lot in case study writing for the management students.
Rajeev Bhadauria spoke after this on the topic “Moving from compliance to governance- The new leadership paradigms”. In this, he spoke about the concept of “Co-botics”, which he defined as the combination of robotics with human co-operation.
The session officially concluded with the remarks by CS Suresh Pandey, who presented vote of thanks.
