JAMMU, Aug 12: Police arrested two motorcyclists along with 52 intoxicant capsules near Ambrah area, falling under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor police station.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police team from Akhnoor police station laid a surprised naka at New Chenab Bridge near Ambrah and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AF-7872.
During frisking, police recovered 52 intoxicant capsules and arrested the rider on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Davinder Singh, son of Kashmir Singh and Sohan Singh, son of Bahadur Singh, both residents of Lehar, Tehsil Akhnoor.
A case under FIR Number 147/15 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Akhnoor police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor police station Inspector Pushpinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
