UDHAMPUR, Oct 6: A motorcyclist was knocked to death by a rashly driven oil tanker on the National Highway near Vikram Bridge, here today.
The deceased was identified as Chaman Lal (38), son of Shanker Dass of Malhar Udhampur. He was a Carpenter by profession. .
The accident took place this morning when the rashly driven oil tanker JK14B-8226 hit the Motorcycle JK14B-8542 resulting into on the spot death of the motorcyclist. The tanker driver managed to flee after the accident.
Rehambal police has registered a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, in a separate road accident, a woman pedestrian was hit by a minibus on Dhar Road, near Green Bar, this evening.
The injured, identified as Bimla Devi, wife of Jagdish of Ward number 14, Udhampur, was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur.
