UDHAMPUR, Aug 29: Panic gripped block Panchari of district Udhampur after a bear attacked mother and her daughter leaving them injured in Panchari area.
The victims, identified Shanti Devi (50) wife of Isher Dass of village Meer and her daughter Manisha Devi (12) were attacked by the bear when they were working in their farm. They were rescued by some villagers and shifted to District Hospital Udhampur. Their condition was stated to be stable.
Former Sarpanch of the area, Parbhat Singh said that villagers also reported the incident to the police and Wildlife Department officials who put two trapping cages. Meanwhile, the incident of bear attack has triggered a panic in the village.
