JAMMU, Mar 30: A woman today allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance after giving poison to her two children, one of whom died while the condition of other was serious.
According to a police spokesman, Anuradha wife of late Abhimaan Singh, resident of RS Pura, whose husband has last year committed suicide, today allegedly gave poison to her daughter, Akriti (15) and son, Ayushmaan (12) by mixing it in a soft drink and then she also consumed the same.
He said when other family members noticed them in unconscious condition, they shifted them to Sub District Hospital, RS Pura, where the mother and son was declared as brought dead by the doctors while in serious condition the daughter was referred to SMGS Hospital, Jammu, where her condition was stated to be critical.
The spokesman said that after completing all medico legal formalities, the bodies of the woman and his son was handed over to their legal heirs for last rites while a case in this connection was registered at police station RS Pura and investigations started.
