Sir,
Apropos the controversy triggered as a sequel to sexiest comments made by Sriprakash Jaiswal, Union Cabinet Minister amidst his address at a college function of girls college, the minister has flagrantly violated the moral code of conduct. He is a significant constituent of elite class in the country whose utterances and actions are witnessed with a watchful eye and leave indelible impression on the public psyche. Unmindfully they are deemed to act as beacon light for the masses.
Our tongue is both an organ of action as well as as organ of wisdom as such it is required to be used with due care and caution. A person who wields no control on his tongue can be dubbed as the chronic debauch and mentally imbalanced, who deserves exemplary deterrent treatment. Womanhood in itself is an institution in our worldly existence sans which no orderly and meaningful human pursuit on this mother planet can be imagined. It was, therefore, a clarion call pronounced by the self realized moral spearheads that wherever women folk are held in reverence and worshipped, there dwell the gods, prosperity and the cosmic grace in full measure.
Agreed our country has been treading on the path of democracy wherein we enjoy comprehensive freedom of speech but it does not give us infinite rights and unbridled liberty to outrage and hurt the self-esteemed and inbuilt pride of any segment of the human population. It is not a stray incident, the abberration has cropped to earlier as well wherein the well placed personalities in the higher echelons of society indulged into same kind of unwanted jugglery of words. The unsavory trend needs be stunted and reversed as an effective preventive measure.
It is also indicative of the moral bankruptcy of the people in the driver seat of Indian polity. The power and authority certainly appears to have been usurped by the least deserving in the country. Moral check coupled with matching deterrent action is need of the hour.
Yours etc…
