JAMMU, Nov 15: The monthly meeting of Inter Media Programme Coordination Committee (IMPCC) was held in the office chamber of Director Information and Public Relations under the chairmanship of B A Malik, Director News Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar.
At the outset the minutes of the last IMPCC meeting were read out and formally adopted for implementation. This was followed by the Chairman IMPCC exhorting the heads and representatives of different wings of media to focus on highlighting the identified themes related to social, environmental, healthcare, people’s empowerment and other issues of public services and interest.
He laid emphasis on running special programmes on the flagship programmes, like MGNREGA, NRHM, NYKS and the role and significance of Panchayati Raj Institutions ensuring the democratic decentralization and for disseminating the information about these programmes and initiatives of the Government to make them a real success so that the benefits accruing for them are trickled down to the target groups.
The chairman also stressed the need for coordinated synergy among different sections of media for fulfillment of the common objectives of bridging the space between both the stakeholders, the public and the Government.
The others who attended the meeting including Navin Kumar Malik, Zonal Director Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangthan, Programme Executives from Radio Kashmir Jammu/Srinagar, Programme Executive Jammu, Doordarshan Kendra Jammu/Kashmir and representatives of Song and Drama division, Assistant Director News Radio Kashmir Srinagar and News Editor Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu.
The next meeting of IMPCC will be held in the office of NYKS Gandhi Nagar on December 20, 2012 at 11 am.
