JAMMU, Apr 20: A month-long series of activities and events conducted under the World Oral Health Programme concluded today at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, with a focus on promoting dental hygiene and awareness among the public.
The programme began with announcements and detailed instructions emphasizing the importance of proper dental care and maintaining good oral hygiene.
As part of the initiative, a range of activities including Special OPDs and informative lectures were organized across various wards and sections of the hospital to encourage better oral health practices. In addition, competitions such as painting and slogan writing, along with a Nukkad Natak and a dental awareness rally, were conducted with the collaboration of different institutions.
More than 60 students actively participated in these events, and prizes were distributed to those who performed well in various competitions.
An outreach oral health programme was also organized at Bal Gran School Channi, where students and teachers were educated about dental care, oral hygiene practices, and the harmful effects of tobacco and tobacco products. A special Nukkad Natak was performed by participants from the Directorate of Information Department to further spread awareness in an engaging manner.
The valedictory function was attended by Dr Narinder Singh Bhatial, Medical Superintendent (MS), Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Dr Rohit Kohli, Dr Bhavneet, Dr Manish, Dr Saira, Dr Neeru, Dr Jyoti, Dr Indra, Dr Mridula and Dr Charu.
Supporting dental staff including Rakesh Saini, Jangbir, Mukhtiar and Raman, along with administrative staff of Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu, were also present, besides students and representatives from various institutions.
The entire programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar, Director Health Services Jammu, and Dr Sanjay Sharma, Deputy Director Dentistry.
