SRINAGAR, Oct 16: Additional Director General of Police Civil Defence, Home Guards and SDRF, L Mohanti inspected State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) 1st Bn Headquarters at Barzulla Srinagar, today. He interacted with officers of the Batallion and inspected rescue equipments available with them.
Commandant SDRF 1st Bn, Abdul Waheed apprised the ADGP about the available resources and shortcomings on account of rescue equipments, particularly flood related equipment like Boats, Rafts, Life Jackets, Lifebouy Tubes, as well as deficiency of manpower.
Mohanti gave instructions on the spot to expedite the tendering process in order to ensure that the rescue equipments are arranged. He stressed on imparting specialized training to the SDRF personnel, through NDRF. He appreciated that all the SDRF personnel passed the swimming course and encouraged them to work with dedication for the betterment of the society. He implored the SDRF personnel to be in a state of readiness to meet any challenges that come their way.
