Modi will bring peace to Valley: Jagmohan

JAMMU, July 21: Former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Jagmohan has hoped that continued efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would usher in an era of peace and progress in Jammu and Kashmir.
In his 12th edition of book ‘My Frozen Turbulence in Kashmir’, which he submitted to Minister of State in the PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh today in New Delhi for handing over to Modi, Jagmohan has lauded Modi as the bold Prime Minister for exposing Pakistan at the United Nations and other multi-lateral world and taking significant decisions like surgical strikes.
Jagmohan has also lauded the Prime Minister’s stand on reviewing Indus Water Treaty (IWT) and Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to Pakistan. He said highlighting human rights violations in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Balochistan at the international level has been another milestone by Modi.
Jagmohan has devoted on exclusive chapter ‘Onwards to a New Resolve’ to the Prime Minister’s initiatives on Jammu and Kashmir and exposing Pakistan.
Jagmohan has also indirectly took a dig on Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi saying the Opposition has been unjustified in alleging that Modi was responsible for creating space for terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The truth is exactly opposite,’’ he said.
In his letter to Dr Jitendra Singh, Jagmohan in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has found a ‘New Helmsman with a New Resolve to build a frame-work of action, which would not only drain out the deeply-embedded infections in the body-politic of Jammu and Kashmir but also usher in an era of lasting peace and progress.
Referring to Dr Jitendra Singh, Jagmohan said: “on quite a few occasions, I have heard, with admiration, on television channels, your precise and telling observations on topical issues concerning Kashmir’’.
