SHIMLA : Prime Minister Narendra Modi today slammed Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh saying there is no other CM in India who has used most of time to sort out his cases in court.
Addressing a public meeting at Ridge Ground here this afternoon, Mr Modi said Mr Virbhadra Singh was perhaps only CM in the country who spent most of his tenure settling the corruption case and discussing it with battery of lawyers.
Without naming Mr Singh, he indicated that people are shrewd enough to understand whom he was referring.
The Prime Minister said if such CM remained in office what he would do for the masses. He urged the people to elect BJP in the coming assembly elections.
Without uttering any word about the CBI and the ED probe against Mr Singh, he indicated that people would do away with such government as they are known for their integrity.
He added that whenever the Chief Minister came to Delhi to attend a court hearing, it diminished the name of Himachal Pradesh on the national level.
Boosted by the BJP success in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and the MCD polls,  Mr Modi said the same wave of victory would be experienced in this hill state.
Recalling his day spent in Shimla 20 years ago as a party in-charge,  Mr Modi said while crossing the Indian Coffee House during the roadshow today, he could not stop himself  remembering his past days spent along with people of this town.
Mr Modi said he got first chance to address first public meeting in his life in this state 20 years ago due to former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.
This state is land of Gods and Goddesses and brave people. He saluted the mothers of soldiers and said they give birth or rear their sons to protect the 130 crore countrymen.
Urging the people to oust corrupt and dishonest from power, Mr Modi said he had succeeded to take head on the menace of black money by launching demonetisation.
The PM said he faced opposition only from those who were dishonest. The Prime Minister hailed the tourism activity in Shimla and other resorts. He said middle class people and second tier townships play a key role in the progress of the economy.
Tier-two or three cities would become a growth engine with their speedy economical development.   He urged the youth to use ‘Digi Dhan ‘apps to promote tourism potential of this hill state.
The Prime Minister said in the past seven decades, only 70 airports became operational. However, during last one year the NDA Government made 30 such non-commercial airports viable while 30 others would be made functional. Mr Modi urged farmers to avail the PM Fasal Bima Yojana. Farmers who lost their corps due to scarcity of rain or excess rainfall would be benefited by the scheme, he added.
He indicated that his government would continue to carry forward the anti-black money crusade. During his 41-minute-long speech, Mr Modi said his government has cleared 30-year-old pending Railway projects.  (AGENCIES)
