Modi Govt’s focus on welfare of backward, poor: Khatana

KATHUA, Apr 3: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP, Rajya Sabha, Gulam Ali today said that the focus of the BJP Government led by Narendra Modi is on welfare of Pasmandas, (Backward) and poor and various schemes have been initiated to better their lot.
Khatana, who participated in an Iftaar cum dinner party organized by Syed Choudhary, president, Dodhi Gujjar Association and people of Chak Maheshi, tehsil Marheen, district Kathua today was also honoured by the people on his nomination to the Rajya Sabha and they hoped that he would continue to work for resolving the issues of poor and backward.
Khatana speaking on the occasion said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has chosen one from amongst Gujjars to represent in the Rajya Sabha and he will continue to work with renewed zeal and determination to address to the issues of common man.
More than 80 crore poor people are being provided free ration while the corrupt and crooks are on the run, said Gulam Ali, adding that the Government is working on twin strategies and crooks won’t be spared while poor won’t be touched. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Government under LG Manoj Sinha has announced to roll out a policy for providing land and houses to the landless while anti-encroachment drive is being reframed to free State and forest land from high and mighty encroachers.
MP said that Forest Rights Act is a path breaking initiative to provide rights to the forest dwellers. This will be a game changer for the forest dwellers and Tribals as it has inbuilt mechanism to provide land for construction of community centers, hospitals, schools and markets. He appealed the people to shun the exploiters and dynastic politicians who have done nothing for the common masses.
DDC member Karan Kumar, Sarpanch Rita Devi, Haji Lal Hussain, Puttoo Choudhary, Moulvi Hussain, Sidiq Ali, Makhan Din, Haji Mira Baksh, Makhan Choudhary, Juman Din, Nasib Ali were also present.
