Rekha held a meeting with prominent local women activists and stressed upon them to get full information related to these schemes and share the same with the women in their respective areas. They can become self reliant by availing these schemes.
Rekha Mahajan informed them that among many schemes launched by Modi Government, for the first time after independence, included providing free gas connections to women and construction of toilets for them, opening their Jan Dhan accounts, giving newly constructed houses in their own names, speaks of the concern for their socio economic upliftment.
Rekha further asked them to go through the salient features of this year’s budget, which has continued with taking more care of the women empowerment.
She said that under Mission Shakti, one scheme named ‘Sambal’ is aimed at strengthening safety & security of women and another scheme named ‘Samarthya’ is dedicated towards empowerment of women, as pronounced in Aatam Nirbhar Bharat Ka Budget. This mission will ensure holistic welfare development of women.
Over 5.5 crore tap water connections were provided in past two years and now 3.8 crore more households will get tap water in 2022-23, which will enable Ease of Living for women, especially in rural households, she said.
Rekha also shared with them that upgrading two lakh Anganwaris in the coming days would mean a direct benefit to the women in the path of becoming self reliant.
The Ministry of Defence has decided to convert the Experimental Scheme for induction of women fighter pilots in the Indian Air Force into a permanent scheme, it will prove to be one more advantage for women in the country, she said.
The list is too long and a glance at every single provision for women would obviously prove that empowering them is among top priorities of Modi Government, Rekha also expressed gratitude to the Union Finance Minister as well, for announcing this year’s budget with special focus on welfare and making Indian women self reliant.
