RAJOURI, Sept 17: Former J&K Chief Minister and PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti today said that Modi Govt was projecting Kashmir’s silence as `normalcy’ before the world.
Talking to media-persons during her tour to Rajouri district today, former J&K Chief Minister said that BJP Government in Delhi was earlier projecting that Articles 370 and 35-A were the major road blocks in the development of Jammu and Kashmir, but it proved to be wrong notion. Even after the abrogation of this article, every body knows about the deteriorating condition of the Jammu and Kashmir.

The PDP leader alleged that in the guise of development, they (BJP) have duped the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Only false slogans and long posters of `so called’ massive development in the newspapers have been circulated just to befool the masses while the reality is miles away from the things being projected by this Government.
“The BJP has tried to break the brotherhood and communal harmony in J&K. They have created wedge among the communities including Kashmiris and Paharis, Gujjars and Paharis. Every body is today terrorized. They lock the doors from outside and not allow the leaders to move out. In democracy, every body has the right to protest and raise his/ her voice for justice but here if any body does so, he will be lifted and detained,” Mehbooba alleged.
“ They are trying to terrorize the people in Kashmir by their acts of suppression. They are taking the `silence of graveyards’ as peace in Kashmir. But they are mistaken. They projected wrong picture before the visiting MPs. The ministers visits now are excessive burden on the public exchequer. It seems to be futile exercise. The corruption has crossed all the limits while unemployment is all time high in J&K. This Govt is wasting massive public money on advertisements and befooling general masses while on ground there is nothing visible. They are unable to control inflation and the poor man is being crushed,” the former CM added.
During meeting in Rajouri many social and political activists joined PDP in presence of Mehbooba Mufti.
