JAMMU, May 8: Reiterating that NDA Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes in law of the land and it does not interfere in the working of agencies probing scams and scandals, Minister in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that these agencies are doing their job independent of Government control.
Talking to reporters here, today at the sidelines of a function organized to felicitate a student from Udhampur who secured second position in Class 12th the results of which were declared recently by BOSE, Dr Singh said situation is quite different under Modi Government as it does not believe in interfering in the working of CBI.
When Dr Singh’s attention was drawn towards Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal’s allegations leveled against NDA Government on Agustawestland deal, he said Kejriwal and like were speaking by UPA mindset when the CBI was working as per the dictates of the Government.
Maintaining that BJP does not believe in witch-hunting, he said instead of being in hurry they should wait till outcome of the probe. On installation of Robert Vadra’s photo during Congress rally recently Dr Singh said that they (Congress) installed his photo perhaps they wanted that this too be probed.
Earlier, Dr Singh while felicitating Vijay Laxmi who recently got second position in class 12th from Udhampur highlighted various programmes and schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for upliftment and empowerment of the women in the country. He said PM deserves credit for launching programmes for empowerment of women.
Dr Singh said for betterment of women Modi Government launched a scheme for construction of toilets especially in rural belt and his Government extended all support for the welfare of backward communities too. The NDA Government is so concerned for the welfare of the people that Prime Minister held separate meetings with CMs of drought hit States yesterday and this is for the first time that such an initiative was taken by Union Government. The Centre is every time with States in tiding over crisis created due to vagaries of weather or natural calamities, he added.
This was followed by an interactive session with the newly elected district and Mandal presidents from Kathua, Udhampur and Reasi districts which was organized by the Union Minister to seek a feed back on various developmental schemes launched by MP through MP LAD Fund and other centrally sponsored and State Government schemes.
During the interactive session Minister of State for R&B and Revenue with independent charge of Transport and Science and Technology, Sunil Sharma, BJP Samparak Adikari, Sanjeev Sharma, Seh Samparak Adikari, Bharat Sharma, Prabhari Kathua, Pramodh Kapahai, Prabhari Udhampur, Rajinder Sharma, Seh Prabhari Arvind Gupta, president District Kathua BJP Prem Nath Dogra, Devinder Wazir and Sanjay Parihar were present.
The BJP Mandal presidents while acknowledging the developmental schemes and projects taken up in hand with the initiative of Dr Jitendra Singh in the constituency like Biotech and Dreamland Parks in Kathua, tendering of Karriyan Gandyal bridge in Kathua, opening the extension of bank counter in Kerriyan Gandyal, construction of Atal Sethu, toilet complexes in border belt of Kathua, launching of skill development programme etc however sought his intervention in bettering water and power supply especially in Summer months when mercury touches peak.
The representatives of various areas informed Dr Singh about the bad condition of roads in their areas and MoS for R&B Sunil Sharma who was present on the occasion assured them that the renovation work of these roads will be taken on war footing basis. He said construction work of some roads has already been approved by the Government.
Maintaining that Modi Government is keen about construction of road network in the country, the Minister said that it has issued directives that no road under PMGSY should remain incomplete by December 2019.
Dr Singh said that funds have been already released from the MP LAD Fund for construction of various developmental schemes in Kathua, Udhampur and Reasi districts. He said maximum amount of his MPLAD fund i. e Rs 2.36 crore was spent in Kathua district which was followed by Udhampur where Rs 1.88 crore were spent.
Maintaining that development of rural belt and backward areas is top on the agenda of Modi Government, Dr Singh asked the partymen especially those from Gool Arnas to frame project reports of the works which they think are needed to be taken up in hand on priority basis.
He also suggested that the Katra road be taken up by the Shrine Board for development as the Katra Municipality as well as the RDD which maintain the road don’t have sufficient funds for its development.
Dr Singh informed the representatives of Basantgarh that he had already sanctioned Rs 4.20 lakh for construction of community hall. Besides, three community halls were sanctioned for Chenani.
In response to a demand by the people of Kandi belt Kathua that a factory be constructed in the area to provide employment avenues to the people, Dr Singh said that he had taken up the issue of laying the Rail Coach Factory at Kathua with Railway Minister but the Minister said that the same was not possible at the first instance but agreed to establish a rail coach repairing factory near Kathua.
The partymen also alleged that outside industrialists don’t absorb the local youth and Dr Singh assured them that the issue will be taken up with the Industries and Commerce Minister C P Ganga by him.
Regarding problems faced by the people due to shortage of tube wells in Hiranagar, Kathua and other areas as well which has caused water scarcity problem, he urged the Party Prahbahris to take up the issue with PHE Minister Sham Choudhary.
The partymen complained that the Government offices still lack work culture and the coalition should thrust on the same. Besides, some DCs were creating hurdles in execution of developmental works be also taken to task, they added.
Lauding the Minister for opening interaction with party men, they suggested that the same should continue in future and rural areas be also given preference.
