JAMMU, Feb 27: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rekha Mahajan, praised the vital role that NGOs under self-help clusters play in tackling social challenges and asserted that these numerous public-friendly institutions can complement Government goals and fill the gaps hindering social welfare by making genuine efforts.
The Shaktivandan programme was organised in Miran Sahib of RS Pura constituency in district Jammu South. The programme was organised under the presidentship of BJP district president, Jammu South Rekha Mahajan. She said the motive of this function was to discuss about the working system and benefits of the Self-Help Group (SHG). The occasion was graced by Former Minister, Sham Lal Choudhary, ex district president, Satpal Pappy, district general secretary and convener of the programme Akash Chopra, Mahila Morcha district president and co-convener, Divya Jain, Meeta Sharma , Champa, Meetu and others were present on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering, Sham Choudhary and Rekha Mahajan honoured Mahila team members under the Self-Help Group Abhiyan for taking this step. They talked in detail about the internal structure, viability, and utility of the SHG.
Sham Lal Choudhary while focusing on the organizational points said that for the success of an endeavor, we need to be focused on our aim. He explained that the members of the Mahila Morcha have played a vital role in the planning and execution of various tasks so as to extend the reach of SHG to the women of marginalized and weakest strata.
Rekha Mahajan elaborated that the present Centre Government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is taking many steps to improve the status of women in every sphere and this fact can be judged by having a look at the vital schemes for women like “Ujjawala Yojana”, “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao”, “Maternity Benefits”.
Akash Chopra educated that the Mahila Morcha workers of various organizations are publicizing the schemes of the Central and State governments and highlights that the women’s Self-Help Group and NGO’s contact programmes are part of these efforts. Divya Jain also spoke on the occasion.
