Modi Govt committed to improve urban infrastructure: Priya Sethi

JAMMU, July 11: Former Minister Priya Sethi today asserted that the Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed massive development under the leadership of visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She said that Modi Government is committed to further improving urban infrastructure in the Union Territory.
“Many new things have happened in the region over the past six years in the field of infrastructure – rail connectivity, roads, air connectivity and electricity which had never witnessed in the last more than seventy years,” the former minister said while inaugurating development work of lane and drain at Gali Afghana Pacca Danga Jammu, Ward No 10 area of Jammu East Constituency.
Priya Sethi said that a long pending demand of residents of Afgana Mohalla has been met and the development of same will benefit the locals as a good infrastructure will be provided to the inhabitants of the area. She also appealed to the people of the area to contribute some of their time for keeping their localities clean and green. She also laid stress upon the officials to maintain quality of work in the area.
Later, Priya Sethi also met with a large number of people of the area and was apprised of their demands and grievances. She assured the people of the area that all the works related to development will be taken up at the earliest. She also sought cooperation of the people in implementing the development programmes on ground level.
Corporator Anil Masoom said that it was a long pending demand of people of the area where street was in dilapidated condition. He got the work sanctioned for about Rs 10 Lakh in which lane will be reconstructed with proper tiling work and simultaneously drains will also be upgraded. He said the problem of street lights and water will be taken on priority. He would develop this ward as a model ward with all green plants. He even appleed to the people of that area to cooperate with him to bring the best .
Among others who accompanied the former Minister included Anita Gandotra, Renu Gupta, Ramni Gupta, Meenakshi Suri, Neelam Sharma, Pooja Malhotra, Meenu Gandotra etc.
