Modi Government sanctions Passport Kendra for Kargil

NEW DELHI, Mar 1: To benefit the people of Kargil, particularly Haj Pilgrims, Ziaratis, and foreign visitors, the Ministry of External Affairs has granted permission to the establishment of a Passport Seva Kendra in the Post Office of Kargil.
Recognizing the need for a Passport Seva Kendra in Kargil to assist Hajis and other travellers, various BJP delegations, including Ladakh Hajj Committee, Chairman, Mohammad Ali Majaz, consistently pursued this matter. During the visit of MoS for External Affairs and Culture, Meenakshi Lekhi to Kargil in September 2023, BJP Kargil highlighted the importance of a Passport Seva Kendra and MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal (JTN) continued these efforts in Delhi to get the same sanctioned.
Today JTN alongside Mohammad Ali Chandan, the district president, BJP Kargil, met with Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Government of India at New Delhi to express gratitude for the approval of a Passport Seva Kendra in Kargil district and requested her prompt issuance of the formal order for its early functioning.
