JAMMU, Feb 25: Former Minister and Ex MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) along with corporator Ward 24, Anu Bali started works for construction of several lanes and drains at Rehari Colony near Board of School Education in Jammu West Assembly segment today.
A large number of people accompanied the BJP leader including Mandal president, Raveesh Mengi, Naveen Bali, district general secretary, BJP Karan Sharma, local residents and political activists of the area. The works will be executed at an estimated cost of Rs 35 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma credited the Central Government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi for giving the due rights to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and giving them powers for taking up major works in each and every Ward of Jammu and Kashmir. He said not just ULBs but Panchayats are also working on the same platform and today every sector is witnessing development in the UT.
He also stated that all pending works will be done in the stipulated time frame and he lauded the efforts of local Corporators for solving public grievances.
Anu Bali said that works worth crores of Rupees are completed in the Ward and it will be seen that all works that are being taken up are done with best quality. She also lauded the works done by former MLA for development of Jammu West and also talked about the works to be taken up in the Ward.
Rajan Gupta, Rohit Gupta, Madan Pandey, Ratan Singh, Bhatia Ji, Balbir Gupta, Atul Bakshi, Tulsi, Aman Sharma, Mintoo Sharma and several others were also present.
