Talking to Excelsior, Chugh termed the holding of G20 meeting in Srinagar a great achievement of Narendra Modi Government saying it is a pride moment for entire nation. He said such a big international event has been held for the first time in Kashmir for which the credit goes to Prime Minster, Narendra Modi and BJP Government which changed entire discourse on Kashmir.
“Modi changed fate of Kashmir and Kashmiris”, said BJP leader, adding “Kashmir is heading for peace and prosperity as an atmosphere of trust prevails there today and the days of fear have gone. The trade and tourism is getting boost and good days are ahead for Jammu and Kashmir now,” he added.
Chugh said last year two crore tourists visited Kashmir which is an indication that the people have fully endorsed the policies and programmes of Narendra Modi Government aimed at peace, development and welfare of masses.
He, while taking a dig at Nehru-Gandhi family, said that they ruined the Jammu and Kashmir with their wrong policies during their decades’ long misrule at the Centre and in J&K. But now those days are over as Modi laid strong foundation of peace and development of J&K under his vision ‘Naya Jammu and Kashmir’ where there are no takers for Pakistan and China.
In response to a question about opposition boycott to inauguration of new Parliament building in New Delhi, Chugh said “corrupt opposition” is unable to digest India’s progress under Narendra Modi and hence they are using such tactics. The opposition is in desperation and is opposing Government just for the sake of opposition, he added.
Chugh said that Parliament is the temple of democracy and it is the matter of faith for 135 crore Indians and the opposition parties have taken the decision in mere desperation. He said the Speaker of Lok Sabha has extended invitation to all parties and all leaders of the country to participate in the inaugural function. “I do not know what message opposition wants to convey by boycotting this great event”, he added.
He said Modi has emerged the world’s tallest leader and many international leaders including Prime Ministers of various countries consider him their boss. He said Modi is considered Massiah of poor and downtrodden and his leadership is being acknowledged across the globe as there is no parallel to him.
On the ED raids on some leaders, he said those who looted the nation can’t be spared and they have to face the law. The politicians links to liquor and other mafia will no longer be allowed in this country and they have to face the law, he added.
Chugh also took a dig at the anti-national forces and ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang saying such forces have no place in India who are working against the national unity and integrity.
He asked Punjab Congress to clear its stand on party leaders like Jagdish Tytler and Sujan Singh who were involved in 1984 anti Sikh riots in Delhi. Some Congress leaders were responsible for killing of Sikhs in Delhi and they were leading the mob who attacked Gurdwaras in Union Capital. The Punjab Congress has maintained their links with those leaders and they should clear their stand before public, Chugh added.
