NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today appealed to the people of Gujarat to maintain peace and order in the state, where the agitation over the demand for quota by the Patel community has turned violent.
In a televised address, Mr Modi underlined that violence was no solution to any problem, and everything could be settled through dialogue. The Prime Minister said the people should remain calm and maintain unity, and not do anything that was against the spirit of democracy.
