Model paper for XI Class

Sir,
The Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education has switched over to external examination for Higher Secondary Part Ist from the current session.
The pattern of examination has been changed after following the process of comprehensive and continuous evaluation at the institution level for years together. The decision is aimed at helping the students and infuse seriousness to the class.
It is a welcome step but the way the policy has been changed without following ground work is destined to affect the students of the on  going session in both summer and winter  zone. It took months together to the Board to notify paper scheme but has failed till date to release “Model Paper”. The examinations in the winter zone are to be held after two or three months and the students have been put to disadvantage. The teachers, particularly language teachers, are themselves confused and not to speak of the students. Take the example of English. The Board has announced the pattern of 12th class. In 12th class there are about eight units on “Writing Skills” and Ten Units of Grammar (Translate) carrying weightage of 45 marks out of 100.
But in 11th syllabus, there are only three units of “Writing Skills” and hardly four units of  Grammar Skills. How the board is going to adjust is unconceivable.
To conclude, the Board authorities shall make up and issue the “Model Paper” at the earliest for the benefit of students.
