JAMMU, Mar 7: The 22nd meeting of Executive Committee of Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society (MMJHS) was held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Tourism Ghulam Ahmad Mir, who is also the Chairman of the Committee.
The Minister reviewed renovation and repairs works besides taking stock of the pace of work of the new developmental projects taken up for construction during this year.
The meeting discussed shifting of HT/LT Lines, renovation of Central Courtyard (Dewan-e-Aam), illumination of the complex, development of alternative parking site and other issues.
The meeting also sought views of a Rajasthan based consultancy, which has expertise in restoration of historical monuments. It was decided that a team of Society Members would visit Rajasthan to get a first-hand appraisal at the historical monuments renovated by the agency.
Besides, Secretary Tourism Zafar Ahmad, Executive Director MMJHS, Soujanya Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Rehana Batul, Consultant, Tourism Department K. A. Qadri, the Executive Members Prof. Zahur-ud-Din, Narinder Singh Jamwal and Zafar Javid Ahmad Khan and other senior officers of Tourism Department and Heritage Society attended the meeting.
