JAMMU, Feb 28: Modern Montessori International (MMI) Pre School (London), Jammu branch today celebrated its first foundation day.
A cake cutting ceremony was organized to celebrate the occasion. While speaking on the completion of first year of the school, Principal of the school, Pragya Gupta, said, “The year 2017 was full of learning and fun, as the little Montessorians who came to us as little babies, have now become confident, smart with the love and magical wand the teachers and didi’s waved for them”.
She said in this one year, MMI Pre School has registered an enviable progress in academics as well as other extra co-curricular activities. The emphasis is on self learning and developing skills that are conducive to the child’s social, mental, emotional and intellectual growth. Balances of opportunities are provided through Montessori Methods of learning.
“The entire site of the school and its facilities provides an active learning, environmental and Montessori educational principles as said by Maria Montessori that ‘If an educational act is to be efficacious, it will be only that one which tends to help towards the complete unfolding of life’.”
She said that the role of teacher is that of an observer rather than an instructor, this is to encourage the child to make their decisions and decide their own directions. “This school is a place where the children are masters of their environment indoor and outdoor”, she added.
Directors of the school, Bhavna Rohmetra and Sapna Rohmetra, also attended the cake cutting ceremony.
