MLC, Commandant JAKLI call on Governor

Srinagar, Aug 5: Surender Ambardar, Member Legislative Council, called on Governor N.N. Vohra, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
Mr. Ambardar discussed several issues relating to the rehabilitation and welfare schemes for Kashmiri Migrants and effective protection of the properties left by them in the Valley.
The Governor urged Mr. Ambardar to objectively pursue the efficient implementation of all development programmes relating to his area.
Brigadier Suresh G Chavan, Commandant, J&K Light Infantry Regimental Centre also called on Governor.
Brigadier Chavan, who took over recently, briefed the Governor about the JAKLI’s responsibility with regard to recruitments, trainings, operations, provision of Regimental privileges and facilities for officers and men etc.
The Governor lauded the extremely important role which has been played by JAKLI, ever since its establishment, in safeguarding the national frontiers wherever this force has been deployed.
The Governor wished a successful tenure to Brig. Chavan.
