NOWHERA, Oct 11: Senior leader of the Peoples Democratic Party and Member Legislative Council (MLC), Surinder Choudhary today urged the State Government   to  formulate a comprehensive policy to solve problems of the border residents. He said that problems being faced by the border inhabitants should be solved once for all.
Surinder Choudhary was addressing a function while handing over scooty to a handicapped youth namely Ashok Kumar of village Bareri of Nowshera. The MLC has sanctioned this scooty from his Constituency Development Fund. Choudhary is first legislator who has sanctioned scooty from CDF to any handicapped youth in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLC emphasized  the need of restoring peace on the border. He said that war is no solution and leadership of both the countries  should take some steps to establish sustainable and lasting peace on the borders so that people living on both sides of border should live with peace and prosperity.
Highlighting plight of border residents, Mr Choudhary said that border people are bearing maximum brunt of the hostility between India and Pakistan. He pointed out that recent skirmishes on the border have dislocated hundreds of family and only border people know the problems they are facing due to such turmoil.
He reiterated his demand that five marla plots must be given to the border residents at safer places so that they can move to such places at the time of hostility on the border. Choudhary also demanded financial assistance to the displaced border to the tune of Rs10,000 per family so that these families could meet their requirements. He also demanded strengthening of the security in the camps where border migrants have taken shelter.
