MLA’s concern over dilapidated condition of GPS

RAMBAN, Oct 19: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ashok Kumar today expressed concern over dilapidated condition of Government Primary School (GPS) at Upper Chilla in Panchayat Chhampa. MLA expressed his concern during tour to the villages of the Chhampa Panchayat. He said that poor quality of construction material has been used, which has resulted in the bending of roof tin (GIC) sheets on the front edge, endangering the lives of the students. He also expressed resentment over incomplete construction of the school toilets and asked the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) for necessary action against the concerned contractor. MLA also directed the Executive Engineer, Power Development Department (PDD) to relocate the electric wires passing over the compound of GPS, Upper Chilla. He also announced donation of wooden desks for each Government Middle School, Upper Chilla, Government Primary School Ranji and Government Middle School, Gami from his CDF. MLA also promised to sanction Rs 1 lakh for the development of the compound besides assuring the sanctioning of Rs 2 lakh for the construction of 5000 gallon water tank out of his next CDF allocation for the Primary School, Ranji. In response to the demands for Allopathic and Veterinary Dispensaries, restoration of the defunct water pipes, detachment of the attached teachers to schools in Batote, upgradation of the 25 KV transformer, construction and restoration of the Trail road from the Tourist Bungalow Batote to Sanasar via Upper Chilla, the construction of the wooden culverts over the local nallahs and the availability of the timber for the construction of the GMS building, the MLA assured an early action. MLA urged the Leighton Welspun Contractors Private Company for recruiting the locals in its ongoing construction work in Gami.
