MENDHAR, Dec 30: Alleging that delay in completion of development works besides denting the credibility of popular representatives leads to cost escalation and unnecessary burden on public exchequer, Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana today impressed upon the sectoral officers to expedite the ongoing works on various developmental projects in Mendhar Sub-division.
Mr Rana was taking stock of various development works at a public grievance redressal camp at village Kasbalari here.
Ex-legislator, Ch Rahim Dad, Showkat Choudhary, Ch Wali Dad, Assistant Commissioner Development Dr Basharat Hussain, Chief Education Officer, Ch Lal Hussain, XEn R&B, Mushtaq Raina, XEN PHE, Qayoom Choudhary, XEn PDD, Nisar Choudhary, XEn I&FC, Mushtaq Choudhary, AEEs of R&B, PDD, PMGSY, PHE and I&FC besides officers of Agriculture, Horticulture and CAPD departments accompanied the MLA. The progress on several ongoing development works executed by RDD, R&B, PDD etc was discussed and the locals raised several issues of public importance.
The MLA asked the R&B authorities to expedite work on Salani-Kasbalari, Kehni-Kasbalari, H/S Kasbalari-Kangyan and Uchhad-Kasbalari road projects. He said completion of these projects will change the overall development profile of the area and improve the quality of life. He also directed XEn PHE for early completion and operationlization of ongoing water supply schemes that will benefit several adjoining villages. The RDD was asked for development of a play ground at village Kasbalari.
Mr Rana directed the CA&PD authorities to ensure that enrollment under NFSA does not lead to injustice to any consumer. He said categorization for entitlement under NFSA must be done with utmost care so as to ensure that deserving consumers are not left out.
The Agriculture and Horticulture officers were instructed for conducting awareness camp in the sub-Division to motivate the farmers to switch over to more productive and cost effective fruit crops and cultivation techniques. For improving the functioning of schools and health institutions in the area, necessary instructions were passed on to the officers of Education and Health Departments.
