MLA Sonawari, film producer call on Governor

JAMMU, Mar 9: Moham-mad Akbar Lone, MLA Sonawari, called on Governor N N Vohra, at the Civil Secretariat here today.
Mr. Lone apprised the Governor about certain issues relating to drinking water supply in his constituency and urged him to provide adequate funding to water supply schemes being executed under National 7 and Khatpora; regular electricity supply  to two main lift schemes from Manasbal lake; release of funds for construction of various lift irrigation and dewatering schemes; and strengthening of river embankments at various places along the river Jhelum.
The Governor assured Mr. Lone that all his demands will be given due attention and urged him to continue sustained pursuit of all developmental programmes in his constituency.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Film Director and Producer also called on Governor.
On being informed by Mr. Chopra about his plans to shoot his upcoming film in Jammu and Kashmir later this year, the Governor welcomed the prospect and assured Mr. Chopra of the State Government’s support in the matter.
He directed B.B. Vyas, Financial Commissioner Information, to co-ordinate all further action to ensure that the projected film shooting in the State was provided all required assistance.
