KATRA, May 7: MLA Reasi-Ajay Nanda, accompanied by officials from Public Works Department, today inspected the Katra -Domail road which is under repair.
The MLA was informed that the work is in full swing on the Katra-Domail road, having length of 14.97 Km and it will be completed within the next month. Nanda passed the directions to the officials to ensure time bound completion of the road. He said Katra being the base camp of revered Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage site, witnesses inflow of more than one crore devotees annually and a well laid interconnected road network is very important for the overall development of the area.
He directed all the concerned authorities to monitor the progress of all the road projects of Katra to ensure that they are completed without any further delay.
Later on Nanda conducted extensive tour of Panthal, Katra and adjoining villages to assess the miseries of people. During his visit, he held meetings with the locals, youth and members of PRIS of the area. Locals put forth their problems, which included poor supply of electricity and water, bad roads, shortage of staff in various schools and damage to crop due to heavy rain.
