RAMNAGAR: Sept 9: MLA Ramnagar R S Pathania today flagged off Kailash Kund Yatra from Duddu to Kailash Kund. MLA Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat, SDM Duddu, Dy SP Ramnagar, senior officials from local administration including office bearers of Vasuki Nag-Kailash Kund Committee were also present on the occasion.
Kailash Kund is an abode of Nagraj Vasuki and this Yatra is an epitome of religious fervor, communal harmony and adventurous spirit of the people of the area. Due to militancy it had been abandoned since 1992 but now it has been resumed and restarted with a message that this yatra re-enforces human beliefs in the irresistible diehard spirit of fight unto the last.
On the occasion, MLA Ramnagar said that the historical Kailash Kund is situated at 14,500 ft and a treat for pilgrims and Para troopers. He directed the local administration for making all the facilities available with the pilgrims. He also called for night shelters, rest benches, footpath from Duddu-Kailash Kund be provided to the pilgrims. He also directed the administration to commission PMGSY Duddu- Seoj Dhar road at the earliest.
